14 mei 2012 The rules on the sale of soft drugs like hash and pot are going to change. Coffee shops will become private clubs open only to residents of the Netherlands. The new rules apply to coffee shops in the provinces of Zeeland, North Brabant and Limburg from 1 May 2012. From 1 January 2013 coffee shops everywhere in the Netherlands will have private-club status. That means they will be out of bounds to tourists.
